Good afternoon. With yesterday's announcement from the Premier indicating that our region will be in a 28-day lock down, the plan for North Simcoe to resume hockey activities has altered. We remain committed to providing an opportunity for our members to play hockey when the government has deemed it safe to do so. You will receive more updates at the beginning of January once we have more information on our ability to get back on the ice. For now, please stay safe and enjoy your Christmas holidays. Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.

We just wanted to provide you with another update on next week's ice. After much consideration and conversations, the Executive has decided to end the season early. Effective Monday December 14th, North Simcoe GHA will pause any ice activities related to the association. This means that any practices previously planned for this week will be cancelled. We felt that it was in the best interest of all players and coaches involved to complete our hockey activities a week early. Further updates will come soon in regards to our winter season. We hope to see you in the new year. Please stay safe.

Today the government of Ontario put the region of Simcoe-Muskoka into code red. This means that starting Monday December 14th, all hockey activities will be limited to 10 total participants on the ice and will only include skills and drills. The association has decided to go ahead with the final week of hockey for this year. This weekend you will be receiving an email detailing your 1 ice time for the week. This will be the final ice time for the 2020 season. All ice is normal this weekend. Please stay tuned for further updates to our 2021 season at the end of the month.

All necessary forms for the Coldwater arena development skates are fillable and can also be found in our Covid-19 Resources menu.

This Township waiver must be signed and dated by each and every person participating on and off the ice. Please hand these in to your association representative and they will hand in to the arena office. In the case of an hourly rental – hand into the arena office in an envelope marked by your group’s name.

Directions for coaches are on the bottom of the form. The form will be available at the screening table in the front foyer by staff to update it. The update is to delete anyone not able to make their ice time – not to add people on the list. Make sure everyone who is coming into the building is listed on the form.

We just wanted to update you on a few policies and procedures that were passed onto us from the health unit and the arena's. This is a reminder to all individuals entering the arena that masks must be worn at all times. When a player is getting prepared, her mask must be worn until she has her helmet on and immediately after she takes her helmet off. We are also reminding parents of children under the age of 8 that only one parent is allowed per child. We understand this is difficult for parents with multiple children. You may get your child dressed and undressed with another child but must leave if there is more than one of you. Please know that we are only providing information to keep everyone safe.

With the first live streaming games behind us this past weekend, the IT team of GameOnStream tried a number of different camera and stream settings to reduce and/or end the lagging that occurred during some of the streamed games.

In order to get the best image, the solution is to drop down the quality to 720p. Any different settings cause the distortion. The new settings will be implemented today and we will ll see an improvement starting tonight. Thank you for your patience.
