U15A Take London by Storm
After having a mediocre couple of games last weekend, the team was looking to gain some positive energy heading into their last tournament of the year this weekend in London.  It's at this critical time of the year where coaches want to be on that sometimes elusive upwards trend heading into the end of the season and playoffs. The girls were able to find that momentum they were looking for, going 2 wins and 1 tie during the round robin portion of the tournament. When the dust settled, they sat alone with 5 points at the top of their division.

They had earned a bye to the semi finals on Sunday morning vs the Burlington Barracudas. It was another nail-biter for all the parents, but the girls held on, winning a close one 2 to 1, and advancing to their first tournament final of the season vs the Soo Greyhounds. In the final game, the caps found themselves down 2 to 1 in the third period. Sophie Scruton decided at this point it was time for some Hillsdale magic, scoring two goals in the final 10 minutes lifting her team to the lead. With only 6 seconds left, and a faceoff in their own end, the Greyhounds would not let up, tying the game and sending it to Overtime. With OT not being able to settle it, the dreaded shootout is where this game would be decided. The Greyhounds were able to score twice in the shootout, winning the game and Championship. This Caps squad played their hearts out the entire weekend, proving to themselves that they can play with anyone in the province at this level.
A special thanks to all the Coaches and staff members for all their hard work with this group. WHAT A WEEKEND.
Up next for the girls is a date with the number one ranked team, the Brampton Canadettes this Saturday. Keep your foot on the gas girls, and continue to compete like you can.
