Our U18 A team are now BACK TO BACK Tournament Champions after going undefeated in our nation's capital over the weekend! The
weekend started with some team bonding on Thursday night. The team took
a bus from the hotel to watch the Leafs beat the Senators at the
Canadian Tire Centre. The girls had a blast and were ready to play.
Game 1: vs Cornwall
The team came out ready to play Friday, starting our tournament off with a 5-0 win over Cornwall. Playing on a much larger sheet of ice than we are used to didn't cause much of a problem for the girls.

Game 2: vs Smiths Falls
The second game came against a tougher opponent. Kaylee B. showed a ton of determination and made sure, with her 2 goals, that the team carried a 2-1 lead into the third period. From there the rest of the girls followed, and after 4 goals in the third period, they skated away with a 6-1 victory.
Eleven goals on the first day....not a bad start!

Game 3: vs Gatineau
The opponents continued to get tougher, and the girls continued to get better. Playing against the team from Quebec that was also 2-0 so far in the tournament, the ladies stepped up and put in a hard fought effort to win 3-2, a big thanks to Lila R., and her 2 goals.

Game 4: vs Gloucester
Playing against the only other 3-0 team in the tournament. The girls needed to win or tie to get a bye to the finals. This is the only game in the tournament where they were behind, and with 8 mins left in the 3rd, Stella "Noodles" W., would tie the game 1-1 and secure the bye to Sunday night.

GOLD MEDAL GAME: vs Gloucester
A rematch of Saturday night's tie game. This is by far the best effort and best team performance of the year by our team. Every girl was engaged, determined, and dealt with the pressure of an elimination game like pros. Our coaching staff is so proud of these girls and how they battled together. With big goals from Leighton T. and Lila R., and a stellar performance in net from Hannah S., the girls won their second tournament in a row, with a 2-0 win.
